Welcome to Budapest and Malmö
From April 25-26, some of the best teams in the region will converge in Budapest in a spectacular clash for the championship title. This will be the high-profile League of Legends event in the country to date. The Summer Split final, on the other hand, will be held in the city of Malmö in the Malmö Arena venue (capacity up to 15,000).
It’s nice to see Riot organize yet another event in Eastern Europe. The area has been starving for competitive League for quite a while now. Malmö, on the other hand, has a strong local gaming community, which makes it a great choice to close out the season. The fact that the LEC has many stellar Swedish players is just icing on the cake.
“Malmö is a young and vibrant city and gaming is quickly becoming rooted in the backbone of our city. We are excited to host the lec 2020 summer together with riot games. It is an important step for us in becoming the best gaming city in europe.” – Ann Nyström, Destination Manager, city of Malmö
Every time there’s a LEC final held in a big arena, the production crew tends to deliver beyond belief. Watching at home is great, but feeling the crowd’s energy, meeting players and casters, and witnessing history are reasons to make the trip and watch some of the best League of Legends teams in the world collide.
The 2020 LEC split finals will provide fans with two distinct locations to choose from.
In the meantime, the LEC has just begun. Tune in on a platform of your choice (Twitch, YouTube, official League website) because you do not want to miss out on any of the action!
