2018 All-Star Event Starts December 6th in Las Vegas!
As 2018 comes to a close, a very exciting League of Legends event looms just ahead. On December 6, Las Vegas will play host to over 30 professional players and 40 community figures from all around the world at the 2018 All-Star Event!
The All-Star event will take place at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas between December 6-8. The event will feature a variety of different modes for pro players to show off their skills. The event is designed to be action-packed and have something for everyone.
So what are all the modes we have to look forward to at the 2018 All-Star Event? Let’s take a look.
Game Modes
All-Star 1v1 Tournament
Will involve all 32 pro players in a brawl to determine 1v1 superiority! Players can use whatever nonsense tactics they want from super nerd try-hard to trolling everyone else. There is a Draven trophy and 2018 1v1 Championship title on the line!
All-Star Charity 2v2 Tournament
The 2v2 Charity Tournament is a new addition to the 2018 All-Star event that will have pros teaming up with League Partners to compete on the Howling Abyss. Competitors will be playing for the charity of their choice, with a bit of oversight via the Riot Karma Initiative.
Regional Rivalry Show Matches
The Regional Rivalry Show Matches will consist of teams comprised of both Pro players and League Partners competing against one another. Examples of the regional rivalry events have been NA vs. EU, China vs. Korea, and so on.
East vs. West All-Star
The East vs. West All-Star is a new addition to the 2018 event where teams will be created from Eastern and Western pros. They will compete in a set of three games while having players rotating out after each game and set.
Mixed-Team Alternate Game
Throughout each game day, there will be different game modes with mixed-teams participating. The three modes are Tandem, URF, and Nexus Blitz mode. These modes are the fun style modes – but have some unique elements to them.
Tandem mode, for example, has two players controlling the same champion, one on the keyboard and the other on the mouse. The idea is to work in conjunction to succeed.
URF or Ultra Rapid Fire is a mode where cooldowns are significantly reduced, and damage output is huge.
The third mode is Nexus Blitz, which Riot Games has been showing off as a potential new game mode. In Nexus Blitz, teams have two junglers and three laners. Events will occur on the map, and the teams complete them for special rewards.
