Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List

The auto chess, or auto battler genre, has overtaken the video game industry in 2019, especially on PC, iOS and Android devices. The brand-new genre is something that didn’t exist before 2019 and it is understandably a new trend that players have been jumping on.
With the rise in popularity of the auto battler genre, there is plenty of reason for players to jump in on the action. One of the biggest games out there right now for the game genre is Teamfight Tactics, which is available on PC currently with a mobile release coming soon.
Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: Criteria
Part of the reason that Teamfight Tactics is so popular compared to its other genre giants is the legacy that lies behind it. It comes from the same team as League of Legends and is a spin-off title set in the same universe. As such, it already has a lot of things going for it.
This includes the epic heroes that you can select as part of your team in the game. Some of them may seem very familiar to you and for a good reason. Known as the champions in the game, you deal with a lot of champions through various matches.
You must know what you are dealing with when selecting your champions for each match. You want to make sure you use the best possible champions. They will likely make or break whether you win an auto chess match or not.
To help you with this, we are going to give you our Teamfight Tactics champion tier list. We are going to let you know the best and worst champions in the game.
This Teamfight Tactics champion tier list is based on several factors. They include the overall strength of the stats and how good they are, the character’s abilities and the way they interact with other heroes in the game.
Without further ado, let’s jump right in and look at our official Teamfight Tactics champion tier list. This starts with the S tier rank that is the best and goes through to the F tier rank, which is the worst and contains legitimately bad characters.
Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: S Tier

This Teamfight Tactics champion tier list kicks off with the S tier. If a hero is in the S tier, you can rest assure you have a worthy addition to your team that is on a godlike level. There are a lot of heroes in the game in total, so we are only covering a couple of them in detail per tier. The rest will be listed in no order below.
Annie is one of the best characters in the game for several reasons. Known as an inferno elemental summoner, Annie is one of the cheapest heroes that you can pick in this tier with only four gold required for summoning her to your team.
What is great about Annie is that she is capable of not only dealing some serious fire damage over time to the enemy that only gets stronger the more that you upgrade her. But what makes her stand apart is that she can summon the insanely powerful Tibbers pet to fight alongside her, essentially making her like two champions in one.
The other insanely powerful hero to keep in mind for using in the game is Zed. Costing a little bit more than Annie at five gold to purchase and add to your team, he is more than worth it for his powerful electric assassin abilities.
Not only does he have some great stats, but he is capable of summoning a clone of himself, doubling his overall power much like Annie. Also, there is the electric nature of this hero who can damage nearby enemies when he deals or receives a critical hit.
Here are the rest of the S tier champions that are in this tier:
- Amumu
- Kha’Zix
- Lux
Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: A Tier

The characters that you find in the A tier of the list are excellent. These are strong characters that are more than useful as part of your team. The only difference is that they may have slightly less powerful stats or abilities than those who are in the S tier.
Yorick is a one-of-a-kind champion. He is the best healer (if you can call this healing) in the game, a game in which there aren’t too many healers in the first place. Known as a light summoner, Yorick costs four gold to summon. It is more than worth it for this character that is closest to reaching S tier.
Yorick has the insane healing ability known as Shepherd of Souls, allowing him to summon back fallen allies. He targets a few of his teammates and blesses them. When those teammates die, they are brought back to life as summons that can keep fighting.
At the max level of Shepherd of Souls, Yorick brings back 12 champions with some serious health and damage. In the right hands, this is, without a doubt, one character that can be worthy of the god tier in the right hands.
Master Yi is a shadow blademaster class champion that you can pick for your team. Yi is a strange character that is almost like an assassin of sorts that has an impressive meditate ability. For a moment, Master Yi becomes invincible and recovers 30% of health in that period.
While that alone is exciting and useful, that is only half of the fun. After becoming vulnerable again, it will have a significant bonus to its attack speed and deal some additional magic damage for a portion of time. The bonuses end when he has full health again.

- Brand
- Janna
- Lucian
- Malzahar
- Nami
- Qiyana
- Renekton
- Sinqed
- Taric
Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: B Tier

The champions that you find in the B tier are generally pretty good characters that you can choose to recruit to your team. They treat you right and do a great job if you have them join you at the right time. Most of them can even become amazing if you upgrade and give them the right items.
Azir is a desert summoner who has a strong summon ability that is beneficial to your team. Azir’s main ability Arise, which allows him to summon a sand soldier to fight alongside him in combat for six seconds. That isn’t a ton of time, for sure, but a lot can happen in that period.
The sand soldier attacks nearby enemies anytime Azir also attacks, capable of dealing some powerful area of effect damage for those six seconds. At the higher levels, it will even be stronger and do a lot of damage in a small window of time.
Another great champion in this tier is Soraka, who is a light mystic class. Soraka has a unique ability that we haven’t heard of before. It creates an area at a random enemy’s location and deals heavy magic damage to those inside the area.
Also, the enemies can’t regain mana during the duration of the ability. This is an impressive ability that lasts even longer and gets better as time goes. The random nature of the ability, though, is what keeps Soraka from reaching beyond the still good B tier.
The rest of the B tier champions in the game:
- Ashe
- Dr. Mundo
- Jax
- Kindred
- Malphite
- Nautilus
- Nocturne
- Olaf
- Senna
- Sion
- Skarna
- Syndra
- Vladimir
- Zyra
Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: C Tier

The characters who are in the C tier are in a weird place in this auto battler game. They aren’t bad, but they can teeter on just being barely good enough to be part of your team. However, some of the cheaper options are more than worth adding to your team and can get better with items and upgrades.
Twitch is a poison ranger character who has the ability Spray and Pray. This ability allows Twitch to gain increased damage and unlimited range for eight seconds. The unlimited range part is what makes Twitch one of the best in this tier and teetering on being a B tier character.
During that short period, Twitch can launch attacks that travel the full range possible and hit every single enemy that it passes through. The one limit to this is that the actual damage itself isn’t that strong.
Diana is an inferno assassin character who is all about dealing some explosive damage against enemies. Her main ability, Flame Cascade, allows her to create several orbs that she then spins around her and explode once they contact an enemy.
The orbs themselves deal magical damage with the number of orbs and the actual damage getting better with upgrades. In addition to this, she gets a shield for three seconds that increases in power with each upgrade. Diana is capable of doing a lot, but it does require the max upgrade to make the full use of her power. A little buff for her and she would be one of the best in the game.
The rest of the C tier fighters in the game:
- Aatrox
- Ezreal
- Ivern
- Kog’Maw
- LeBlanc
- Maokai
- Rek’ Sai
- Sivir
- Thresh
- Vayne

Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: D Tier

Like the C tier, the D tier is in a strange place but one that is even more unfortunate than the previous one. For the most part, these champions aren’t bad characters in the game, but that can certainly lean in that direction.
At the same time, though, they can also lean in the direction of being kind of good if you use them in certain ways. These are just average, mediocre and decent fighters for the most part that aren’t awful for your team but should be used as a last resort.
Warwick is a glacial predator character that has the main ability known as Infinite Duress. This strangely named ability has Warwick the frozen beast attack the enemy that has the lowest health in the round. In the process of attacking, it deals damage, stuns and applies some effects to the enemy.
At the same time, the damage heals Warwick with the damage getting better with each upgrade. The main issue with Warwick isn’t the ability because it is cool. The problem is that it would be better off doing the same attack to multiple enemies rather than just one, and the weakest at that.
Volibear is a glacial like Warwick but is a berserker class fighter. The main ability that this beast has is Frenzied Bite. It is a sweet ability. However, it has drawbacks that hold it back from being what it should be. Volibear bites an enemy and the enemy gets killed instantly if they have less than 35% health.
Along with that, Volibear fully restores his mana afterward. What upgrades do is increase the damage dealt, which is entirely unnecessary if the ability is going to kill the target anyways instantly. Instead of doing that, it would have been much better to make the threshold higher for the instant kills like up to 50% at the max upgrade.

Teamfight Tactics Champion Tier List: F Tier

Last but certainly least is the F tier. In this tier, you will find almost exclusively bad characters that are in the game. For one reason or another, they should not be used in your team at all costs. Their stats might be terrible, they could have useless abilities, and so on.
Perhaps with an update that buffs one or two of them, they could move out of this pit that is the F tier, but for now, these are the characters to ignore. For this tier, we are going over ones that are the absolute worst and that need some serious help to get better.
Braum is a glacial warden class character (there seems to be a lot of issues with this elemental type) that has the ability unbreakable. All it does is give a barrier to Braum that reduces incoming damage. The barrier lasts for four seconds and the damage reduction depends on the upgrade level.
At the minimum level, Braum reduces 60% of the damage taken, which is a fair amount. It goes up to 75% at the second rank. The final upgrade nulls 90% of the damage. It sounds good at first, but there are a lot of issues with this weak ability.
There are a lot of better tanks out there than Braum who can gain a shield while also doing greater things. Braum, on the other hand, can only get the shield barrier. Also, it doesn’t null out all the damage during the duration either.
Speaking of the duration, it only lasts four seconds. There is no way to extend this through upgrades, making this tank even more useless than it needs to be.
Ornn is an electric warden who, like Braum, has an exciting ability that is so underwhelming that there is no point in using the character. Ornn has the Lightning Breath ability that is all about dealing damage. It unleashes some lightning bolts in front of the character to deal damage to enemies.
The damage will be done in a cone shape in front of Ornn so that it is possible to hit multiple enemies at once. Also, there is a 20% increase to the possibility that the enemies hit will be hit with critical strikes for a brief duration of four seconds.
The only thing that changes with upgrades to this character is that the damage goes up. The problem with this is that the damage isn’t even that good. It isn’t phenomenal at the max rank, either. Also, the critical hit rate increase isn’t much good either, along with the duration.
It would be better to see more damage overall, a much higher critical hit chance, or guaranteed critical hits for four seconds. Lastly, those four seconds should also extend with each of the upgrades you get for the character. Until this is changed, you’re better off ignoring this champion.
