Fortnite Week 9 Challenges Guide: Stoke Camp Cod Campfires
Epic Games has released the latest batch of weekly missions for players to complete in Fortnite this week. Today’s set of missions are the Fortnite Week 9 challenges. They include a ton of standard missions plus a couple of unique ones like the Fortnite Camp Cod campfires challenge and more.
Fortnite Week 9 Challenges List
With the release of the Fortnite Week 9 challenges, we are in a surprising place already where there is only one more week of normal battle royale missions left in this season. The penultimate set of weekly challenges are here, and they are surprisingly predictable.
For the most part, these are all challenges you have done before, just in different locations, except for a couple of them. In particular, one mission is one that we thought we would have a few weeks ago but didn’t arrive until recently.
You can find the full list of the varied Fortnite Week 9 challenges below:
- Search for seven treasure chests at Pleasant Park
- Get three eliminations at The Fortilla
- Gas up a vehicle at Catty Corner
- Stoke the three Fortnite Camp Cod campfires
- Collect 200 metal at Hydro 16
- Eliminate seven henchmen or marauders
- Search for seven ammo boxes at Misty Meadows
Unlike last week where we had some extra challenges, there are only seven this week. That brings it back to the normal set of weekly challenges for this season again, as we approach the end of the 10 weeks of battle royale challenges.
The question remains: are these truly the penultimate challenges this season? Most seasons in Chapter 1 would go for about 10 weeks or so and then have a week or two before starting the next one. Chapter 2 has done everything but that.
The first two seasons went at least a month longer than they were originally supposed to, so it is likely that this season will do the same. But we are sure to hear more about that in the coming days. Now, let’s take a look at how to complete all of the Fortnite Week 9 challenges.
Where to Stoke Camp Cod Campfires
For the first challenge up, we will go over the unique Fortnite Camp Cod campfires challenge. This mission requires you to head to Camp Cod and stoke three campfires to get your reward.
But before you can even get to do that part of the mission, you need to head to Camp Cod. The problem with this part is that this is a landmark location that doesn’t show up on the main battle royale map. Instead, you are going to have to know where it is.
Fortunately, we’ve got your back on this one as you will find Camp Cod in the southeastern corner of the map. It is one of the more prominent landmark locations on the Season 3 island, as the relative area is rather distinct and unique compared to other spots.
In the southeast corner of the map, you will find that there is a little island seen on the map southeast of Misty Meadows and south of the snowy mountains. This tiny but still noticeable island is where you will find the Fortnite Camp Cod campfires.
When you arrive on this island, this town of sorts is the campgrounds for this unnamed landmark location. There are three Camp Cod campfires that you can find on the island, and they are all roughly close to one another in this already tiny area.
You will find the first one near the very center of the small island, the second one is just east of it on the coastline, and the third one is slightly northeast of the second one in the very corner area of the island near the water. The three of them are relatively easy to find once you’ve reached Camp Cod.
But you don’t just visit the Fortnite Camp Cod campfires, as you also need to stoke all three of them. To do this, all you need to do is make sure that you have at least 30 wood materials to stoke a single campfire and start healing yourself while you are near it.
In total, you are going to need 90 wood materials, which isn’t a ton, and there are some trees around here that you can gather that from. The best mode for completing the Fortnite Camp Cod campfires challenge is in Team Rumble, so you have enough time to gather the materials and stoke all three of them.
But if you do get eliminated in a battle royale match and aren’t able to get all three in one go, don’t worry as you can pick up where you left off in the next match. You don’t have to do all three of them in the same match, but they are close to one another, so you shouldn’t have any problem doing so.
How to Search Chests and Get Eliminations
Next up in the Fortnite Week 9 challenges is the standard treasure chests one. This is where you just need to search through some chests at Pleasant Park until you have found seven of them. We get this challenge every week, and this week is the same procedure.
The only difference every week is that we have to go to Pleasant Park for Week 9. We’ve visited this location for the treasure chests challenge in the past, so it is no surprise that we are returning here. There are a couple of things that you should keep in mind while looking for chests at this named location.
Pleasant Park is mostly a residential neighborhood, so you will find that most of the chests are in the houses here. Your best bet is to aim for the roofs and basements of the various houses in this named location, as those are the easiest spots to find some chests.
And like always, seven is a lot, so, likely, you won’t find all of them in one match, given that other players will be competing for them. Your best bet is to do this in Team Rumble to reduce competition level, but it still might take you a few matches to complete this.
Next up is the standard eliminations challenge this week. This week, you need to head to The Fortilla and get three eliminations there. This is the usual combat mission that we always have each week in Season 3, and for this one, you need to head to The Fortilla.
The Fortilla should be fairly popular these days, as there is another challenge this week that sort of has to do with it, finding enemy players shouldn’t be a problem. But we do recommend heading here at the start of the match to ensure that you can gear up and take someone out.
Team Rumble is another great mode for this, as you have plenty of time to get all three eliminations. Otherwise, we just recommend aiming for one per match that you do. It should take you around three matches to complete this mission.
How to Gas Up Your Vehicle and Find Metal
For the fourth challenge this week, you need to gas up a vehicle at Catty Corner. This is an interesting challenge that we, technically, were supposed to already have by now. It was one of the leaked challenges a few weeks back, but it was delayed until now.
That is likely because the week it was going to be one of the weekly missions, the Fortnite cars were supposed to drop. But that didn’t happen until very recently, leading to the delay in this weekly challenge.
For those who don’t know, four new vehicle types are in Season 3. There is the standard sedan, sports car, pick up truck, and the semi-truck. You need to gas up one of these four cars to complete this challenge.
But the catch is that you must do it at Catty Corner, the named location in the southeastern corner of the island. You could head here first at the start of a match and look for a car, but the competition will likely be rather high since everyone else will need one.
If you want to go for the safer approach, we recommend heading to Retail Row, Lazy Lake, or one of the other nearby areas, grabbing a car there, and then driving it to Catty Corner. Once you are there, you simply need to pull up to the gas station at the named location and interact with it.
Alternatively, you could pick up a filled up gas can at Catty Corner and gas up your vehicle that way. Regardless, gas is an important part of maintaining these cars as you traverse the Season 3 island, so it is worth getting used to it now through this mission.
Next up, you need to gather 200 metal materials at Hydro 16. This is a major landmark location that is east of Weeping Woods and is the massive dam here. You simply need to head to this dam and find the metal buildings or other structures and start mashing away to gather materials.
Gathering 200 is a good bit, so it could take you a while. You might have trouble getting them all in one match. If that is the case, you can always just continue in the next match until you have collected 200.
How to Eliminate Henchmen or Marauders
The penultimate challenge this week is surprisingly another elimination one. This time, though, you need to take out NPC enemies rather than other players. You need to eliminate seven henchmen or marauders on the island; the location doesn’t matter.
The best place to find henchmen is The Authority in the middle of the map, while marauders are best found at The Fortilla, which will make it more popular this week for the other mission, too. You need to head to either of these and start taking out these NPC enemies.
Seven is a lot, which you can certainly do in one match, but just aim for a few in each you do. It should take you a few matches to complete this mission. The final challenge this week is the usual ammo boxes where you need to head to Misty Meadows.
Once you are there, you need to find seven ammo boxes. Your best bet is to look inside of the houses and under stairs to find these ammo boxes. Again, seven is a lot, so feel free to just look for a few in each match that you do until you have all seven collected.
Fortnite Week 9 Challenges Rewards
This week was a pretty standard week overall, and the rewards are no different. You will get 35,000 experience for each of the missions that you do this week, which is great for getting your battle pass tier as high as possible before the end of the season in the coming weeks and possibly months. There is only more week of standard missions left this season, so don’t miss out on a single challenge.
