Fortnite Week 10 Challenges Guide: Dance at Apres Ski Lodge, More

by in Fortnite | Aug, 20th 2020

Epic Games has done it again. Ten weeks of battle royale challenges have flown by in Season 3 of Chapter 2, and we are at the end once again. The Fortnite Week 10 challenges have been released, including the dance at Apres Ski dance floor mission and more.

This Week Is the Final Week for Normal Challenges

With the Fortnite Week 10 challenges’ release, we are at the final normal battle royale missions for Season 3. This week came out of nowhere for us. It certainly seemed like we were in the middle of the season still.

But lo and behold, we are here with the final week of normal battle royale missions in Fortnite for this season. The question remains: where do we go from here after this week? Epic Games has given little to no information regarding anything at all that will happen moving forward.

We don’t know anything at all about the next season of the game or when it will release, nor do we know how long this current season will go on for. We expect to find out in the coming week or two as this season winds down or gets extended again.

After all, Chapter 2 has been full of nothing but extended seasons thus far. The first two seasons in this chapter were extended, with the second one only for about a month or so. We expect a similar situation with Season 3, but that hasn’t been announced yet.

Fortnite Week 10 Challenges List

Until Season 3 is inevitably extended and Season 4 is delayed, we still have the Fortnite Week 10 challenges to do. This week’s batch of challenges are some of the most nonchalant ones that we have seen all season. There are a couple of good ones but, overall, it’s just an alright week.

Unfortunately, this is the final week of challenges, as they aren’t nearly as exciting as last week’s challenges or some of the other weeks. That said, there is always a reason to do them, as they grant some sweet XP rewards. Here are the Week 10 challenges:

  • Search for seven treasure chests at The Authority
  • Get three eliminations at Misty Meadows
  • Collect five fireflies from Weeping Woods
  • Dance at Apres Ski Lodge dance floor for 10 seconds
  • Destroy seven shipping containers at Dirty Docks
  • Deal 500 damage to opponents with shotguns or SMGs
  • Deal 15,000 damage to opponents with shotguns or SMGs (team challenge)
  • Search for seven ammo boxes at Frenzy Farm

As you can see, there are technically eight challenges this week, which is a little bit more than some of the weeks in Season 3 that only had seven. But that is only because one of the challenges has two modes: one geared towards solo players and another for teams.

Other than that, the challenges are pretty standard this week. We have the usual copy and paste ones like the eliminations mission, and even the more unique ones like the fireflies and dance at Apres Ski Lodge challenges are ones that we have done in past seasons. Regardless, here’s how to do all of them this week.

Where to Dance at Apres Ski Lodge Dance Floor

We’re going to kick things off with the one challenge that we expect a lot of players to be searching for this week: the Fortnite dance at Apres Ski Lodge dance floor challenge. We’ve had this one before, but it has been quite some time, so players may have forgotten about this location.

The mission itself is rather easy, but only once you know where to find the Apres Ski Lodge dance floor. If you don’t know where it is located, you’ll be wasting your time for a while. The ski part is a hint that snow is related, but it isn’t found in the very snowy mountains in the southeastern corner of the island.

Instead, you will find this ski lodge more in the southwestern area of the map. You want to head directly southwest of Misty Meadows to find the Apres Ski Lodge. It is in the snowy section southwest of the named location that is very small, but you can see it on the map nonetheless.

Atop this snowy mountain is a little ski lodge building where you need to go for this particular mission. There is only a single building here that is part of the ski lodge landmark, and it is where you need to go to complete the dance at Apres Ski Lodge dance floor challenge.

You may be wondering where the dance floor is, but it is actually in the lone building at the ski lodge. Though it is known as a lodge, the building is housing a hidden club inside. This party locale is complete with a dance floor where players can hang out and listen to music.

What you need to do is head inside the building and pick your favorite dance emote and dance at Apres Ski Lodge dance floor for at least 10 seconds. That is all you need to do, but we recommend being careful as other players will be there and likely to eliminate you unfairly. We recommend doing this in Team Rumble to prevent that from happening as much.

How to Search Chests and Get Eliminations

For the second challenge this week, it is more of the standard one where players must search through treasure chests. There are seven that you need to find, and this week’s location is The Authority. One of the most popular destinations in Season 3, it is no surprise that it is the grand finale.

As such, you are likely to run into other players, in general, and players trying to complete this mission. That means a lot of competition for these treasure chests, so we highly recommend Team Rumble for this challenge.

There are many chests at The Authority around the complex, but it is fine to aim for two or three per match you do. You are good to do a few at a time until you have all seven.

For the next usual weekly match, we have to get three eliminations one but this time at Misty Meadows. Unlike The Authority, this is not a super popular location, but it should be more populated with this challenge. As always, aim to land here immediately so you can gear up for taking someone out.

You don’t have to get all three in one match, thankfully, so just set a goal for eliminating one player per match that you do at Misty Meadows. Again, Team Rumble could be your friend here, but normal battle royale is also good as you have more potential targets.

Where to Collect Fireflies and Destroy Shipping Containers

For the fourth challenge this week, we have another one that is a bit more complicated than some others. You need to collect five fireflies at Weeping Woods. Fireflies are back in the game now that Weeping Woods fully restored to the map.

They are found all around the named location, so you shouldn’t have difficulty finding these glowing little bugs. You don’t need a jar for this mission, so you need to get close to the fireflies and interact with them to collect them.

Five is a lot, so it is understandable if you need to do this in more than one match. There are no specific areas that you need to head to as you should be able to find them all over the forest; look for the glowing swarms of them. Team Rumble is great for this, as it means less competition for these fireflies.

For the fifth challenge this week, you need to destroy seven shipping containers at Dirty Docks. As the name of the challenge clearly states, Dirty Docks is the destination for this one. What you will find at this little harbor is that there are metal shipping containers everywhere.

That part isn’t the issue, so you need to do your best to shoot or mash at them with your pickaxe. They have a good bit of health given their size and metal material, but it shouldn’t take you too long to destroy one.

But you need to destroy seven, which is a lot, so feel free to take your time with this mission across multiple matches if necessary. Again, Team Rumble is your friend here. There are only up to 40 players in these matches across both large teams, instead of the usual 100 or so, so you have better chances of potentially getting all seven shipping containers in a single match.

How to Deal Damage and Search Ammo Boxes

The next two missions are the same general objective, but one is meant for solo players, while the other is as a team. The first is to deal 500 damage to opponents with either shotguns or SMGs. Close combat is heavily favored here, so it’s time to get up close and personal.

500 damage is quite a lot honestly, as you will need to take out roughly five players with only health and no shields or more than two players with full health and shields with that amount of damage. You can do this across multiple matches, so feel free to take your time with this mission.

But then there is the next part of this mission, which is technically a separate one, where you need to deal a whopping 15,000 damage to opponents as a team with SMGs and shotguns. The entire team’s damage will count towards this mission, but even still, that is a ton of damage overall.

Even with a full team of four players in total, you will have several thousand damage between all of you to do for this mission. This will likely take you several matches to do, even if you are doing Team Rumble. We highly recommend finding a group of friends to do this with as you can coordinate together and ensure that everyone is either using an SMG or shotgun in battle.

For the final mission this week and potentially of this season, you need to search through seven ammo boxes at Frenzy Farm. This is the usual ammo boxes challenge, and you can find these all over Frenzy Farm, particularly in the main house and in some of the barns. This is another one where you can take your time and do it across matches if you need to.

Fortnite Week 10 Challenges Rewards

The final week of the battle royale challenges are like all of the previous ones in terms of rewards. You will get 35,000 experience for each of them, which is crucial for those looking to reach tier 100 before the end of the season.
