Fortnite Season 6 Week 5 Challenges: Off-Road Tires, More
It’s a new week in Fortnite battle royale, so that means that it’s time for some new missions and quests for players to complete. The Fortnite Season 6 Week 5 challenges are here. Along with them are some pretty intriguing tasks, like the one that has to do with the new Fortnite off-road tires.
Fortnite Season 6 Week 5 Challenges List
As always, we will list the full set of Fortnite Season 6 Week 5 challenges below for you to check out. We are in the middle of the current season, at least compared to the 10 weeks for some past seasons, so we are nearing the middle of whatever Epic has in store for us.
That means that we can likely expect some new content and other changes in the next couple of weeks that will probably be the last major gameplay changes for this season. But it all depends on how long this current season goes on since Season 5 went over for around five weeks past its original end date.
You can find the Fortnite Season 6 Week 5 Challenges listed conveniently for you below, including the new legendary quest that is happening this week:
- Deal 1000 damage with SMG weapons
- Search through five ammo boxes
- Use a campfire
- Modify three vehicles with the new Fortnite off-road tires
- Drive from Sweaty Sands to Colossal Crops without ever leaving the vehicle once
- Maintain a speed of 65 or higher for four seconds while in a vehicle
- Get two seconds of airtime in a vehicle twice
- Legendary quest: Collect gold bars in matches (five-stage quest recommended for four players)
As you can see, this week follows last week in Week 4 of Fortnite battle royale by having seven normal missions to do and then an extra legendary one for a limited time. Unfortunately, the quests this week aren’t that interesting, but they are better than last week.
There is a heavy theme centered around the cars for the middle quests, so be sure to start driving a lot. Also, the new Fortnite off-road tires gameplay mechanic this week that you need to know about. We are here to help you out with that one and the other quests, so let’s get started with the Fortnite Season 6 Week 5 Challenges guide.
How to Deal Damage With SMGs
We have the standard damage-dealing quest that players are asked to complete for some experience rewards. This is the usual challenge where you need to pick up a certain weapon type and deal some damage with it. In this case, we need to do it with the SMG.
It doesn’t matter the SMG weapon version that you use, so long as it’s a submachine gun of some kind. The catch here is that you need to deal a whopping 1000 damage with it in total. Epic Games has been increasing the number of damage for these quests and 1000 is quite a lot.
This is especially an issue since you are expected to do this completely by your lonesome self. 1000 damage is equal to around 10 players with only full health, like at the beginning of a match, or five players with full health and shields.
That is quite a lot as some players struggle to get more than one elimination per match that they are in. For this purpose, if you are looking to complete this mission as fast as possible, we highly recommend that you do it in the Team Rumble game mode.
This mode offers more time and respawns in each match so that you can keep coming back and dealing more damage to players with your SMGs. Thankfully, you don’t have to do this in a single match, so take your time and get as much damage as you can from match to match.
The second mission this week is another standard one: find and search through five ammo boxes. That is it. You will find ammo boxes all over the map in Fortnite Season 6. It can be in houses or buildings at named locations or just random buildings in the middle of nowhere.
Ammo boxes are likely to be found all over Fortnite as they are even more common than the coveted treasure chests are. You could easily find five in a single match, but you don’t have to either. You can take your time with this one as well. My recommendation is to always check under stairs in houses and other weird spots like that as they are commonly found there.
How to Modify Vehicles With Fortnite Off-Road Tires
For the third mission that players need to do, you need to use a campfire simply. This is a pretty easy task that you may already do in the battle royale matches if you try to get your health back quickly and easily for you and your team.
Campfires are found in different, sometimes random places around the island, so it can be hard to memorize where every single one of them is located. Fortunately, the easiest place to find a campfire is to head to the Weeping Woods area simply, and there are some here, especially in the main area.
Then, all you need to do is walk up to one of the campfires and interact with it to light the fire and start healing your character right away for a limited time. All you need to do for this mission is to light the fire, and that is it, so just this task alone will complete the mission and give you some experience. It doesn’t matter what game mode you do this in.
The next mission is by far the most interesting and fun one to do this week, and that is to modify three different vehicles with Fortnite off-road tires. If you don’t know these new tires, that is likely because they just came out in the game for players to use in the matches.
As such, you may not have even had the chance to check them out yet or find out what they are and how they work. The gist of it’s that the new Fortnite off-road tires allow players to modify the vehicles in the game for the first time.
One of the most frustrating parts of driving a vehicle in the game is trying to go off-road. Though you would think that you could go pretty fast in some of these vehicles, that isn’t the case as you will go fairly slow when you aren’t on one of the main roads.
But the Fortnite off-road tires can help with this as they will modify the vehicle that you are driving to make it more suited to driving on the grass and fields more easily and quickly. But to use these new tire modifications, you need to be able actually to find them.
The best place to find the Fortnite off-road tires in our experience this week is by heading to the various gas stations around the map. These are also great places for finding gas and cars in general, so you may be able to find everything that you need in one stop.
Simply interact with the vehicle once you have picked up the Fortnite off-road tires, and you will modify it. However, the one thing that you should keep in mind is that you will need to do this with three different vehicles to finish off this quest.
How to Maintain a Speed of 65 or Higher
For the following quest this week, you need to use a vehicle to drive from Sweaty Sands to Colossal Crops without leaving the vehicle once. We have had these types of missions in the past, and they are only difficult because of the gas that you have to keep up with.
The gist of it’s that you need to find a vehicle, get in it at Sweaty Sands, and then drive nonstop to Colossal Crops without leaving the vehicle once, even if other players are attacking you and the like along the way. The distance between Colossal Crops and Sweaty Sands isn’t the worst we have seen of this mission type.
But the problem is that you might not have enough gas to make the entire trip, so this is the most important part. Find a vehicle in Sweaty Sands, like at the gas station, and make sure to fill up the tank completely before you leave. If you have done this, it should make the journey east to Colossal Crops not too difficult at all. Make it to that location, look for the notification you finished this, and you are good to go.
It’s now time for the next quest, which can be done simultaneously as the last one. You need to maintain a speed of 65 or higher when using a vehicle in the game for at least four seconds in total. This is a pretty simple task but will require you to pay close attention to your speed gauge.
The best thing to do is start on the road and stay on the road the entire time, as that will allow you to maximize your speed. You can find your speed at all times in the bottom right corner of the screen while driving the vehicle. Reach 65 and stay at that speed or higher for four seconds, and you will finish this quest.
How to Complete the Week 5 Legendary Quest
Now it’s time for yet another car-related mission. This next one could be technically done at the same time as the other ones but will require you to do something very different. You need to get at least two seconds of airtime in a vehicle twice.
Airtime is when your car is off the ground completely and not touching it. The best way to do this is to drive your car off a huge ramp or hill and soar for a few seconds. Two seconds doesn’t seem like a long time, but it can be in this particular case as the car will fall pretty fast.
But another great way to do this pretty easy quest is to get out of the car and build a ramp that goes as high as you want it to. Then hop into the car and drive off the ramp at the top and, if you make it long enough, there should be no problem with you being in the air for more than two seconds.
And last but not least, we have the legendary quest this week. As always, this has five parts to it, with each part rewarding you when you complete it. It’s also meant for four players. Unlike the other missions, this week will expire when the next week rolls around.
This week, players need to gather as many gold bars as possible. The first stage has a requirement of 1000 bars. It increases by 1000 each stage until the final one in which you need 5000 in total. This is why you need to do this with your friends.
There are a few great ways of getting gold bars in the game. There are the bounties from last season that you can pick up at the bounty board, quests you can take on from the NPCs, opening up treasure chests, and then just eliminating other players in general.
Each of these tasks will only give you a few gold bars, so it can take quite a long time to do this. That is why it’s imperative that you find three friends if you can, to complete this with so that everyone can work together to finish this rather lengthy task.
