Fortnite Season 5 Week 8 Challenges: Steel Farm, Sunflower Farm
The eighth week of Fortnite battle royale is here in Season 5. Players looking forward to the end of this season should note that there is still a bit more left to go. And for those of you who are scrambling to get to tier 100, be sure to check out the Fortnite Week 8 challenges this week.
Fortnite Week 8 Challenges List
It’s the Fortnite Week 8 challenge. We are deep in the middle of the season, with a possible ending to it coming in the next month. It is hard to say that we don’t know what Epic Games’ plan is for this fifth season and how much time it still needs to develop the next one.
In the meantime, we have the Fortnite Week 8 challenges here to help us get as much experience as possible so that we don’t miss out on any of the awesome rewards available this season. The eighth week, in particular, is not too different from what we saw in Week 7 last week and any of the other weeks before that.
For the most part, this week is pretty much repeating the cycle of quests going on all season long. You have the standard ones and the legendary ones, plus a theme that nicely ties everything up. You can find the full list of the Fortnite Week 8 challenges below:
- Destroy three apple and tomato boxes at The Orchard Farmers Market
- Drive a car through the corn field at Steel Farm
- Deliver a truck to Sunflower Farm
- Get 250 pistol damage on enemies
- Collect 500 gold bars in total
- Blow up a gas pump in a match
- Glide across a total distance of 3500 meters in total
- Legendary quest Week 8: Eat fish in matches (five stages, recommended for a full squad)
As you can see, there are eight quests to match the eighth week. The seven standard ones have a pretty decent theme this week, encompassing the different farms and produce you will find across the Season 5 island in Fortnite battle royale.
Meanwhile, we also have a legendary quest that is only here for a limited time that is a bit easier to do than the last couple of tough ones. Here is how to do all of the Fortnite Week 8 challenges that are out this week.
Where to Find Steel Farm and the Farmers Market
Kicking off the Fortnite Week 8 challenges this week is a unique one that we have never really seen before where we need to head to The Orchard Farmers Market and destroy three apple or tomato boxes. For some reason, Epic wants us to be rather angry at the local farmers this week, and we aren’t sure why.
For those who don’t know, the classic Orchard and Farmers Market on the Season 5 island is largely where you will remember it from the rest of Chapter 2. You can find it north of Colossal Coliseum, which is the named location added this season in place of Frenzy Farm and Stark Industries.
Directly north of the coliseum is where it changes from the barren desert landscape to the green forests and plains where you can find The Orchard and the Farmers Market. Right north of the two biomes’ border is The Orchard, and you can see it kind of big on the map.
Though it isn’t a named location, it is a substantial landmark area featured in several challenges to date. The Orchard is home to mostly apple trees and the like, but these farmers also gathered some tomato boxes for you to search through as well.
The goal here is to go to this landmark and find these boxes and destroy three of them in total. You can do this with your pickaxe or gun so long as you take out three of them. Three isn’t a lot. You can do this in one match, but you can also take your time to run out of boxes to destroy.
The second challenge this week is to drive a car through the corn field at Steel Farm. Before we can go any further, we need to pinpoint where Steel Farm is located, as this is a place that hasn’t been featured in past missions in Fortnite Season 5.
Fortunately, it isn’t that far off from The Orchard Farmers Market that we headed to in the previous mission. All you need to do is head a little southeast from the previous destination. You can see the farm somewhat on the map just east of the river and Colossal Coliseum.
The catch here is that you need to find a car of some kind before you get there. Fortunately, The Orchard usually has one or two of these available there; once you have a car, head on over to Steel Farm and drive through the corn fields, wrecking everything in the process.
Where to Find Sunflower Farm
This week’s third mission is to drive another vehicle to a farm, but there is a bit of a difference this time. You need to deliver a truck to Sunflower Farm. This farm is easy to find as it is right next to The Orchard and is the same landmark location.
You need to head to the farm near The Orchard and make sure to bring a truck with you. This part is a bit more complicated since you can’t use a normal car, taxi, sports car, and so on to do this task. You need to make sure that it is an actual truck that you leave at the Sunflower Farm or not complete this task.
Be sure to look for the notification in the top left corner of your screen once you bring your truck, which lets you know that you safely delivered the vehicle to Sunflower Farm.
For the next mission this week, we need to get some damage with a specific gun. It happens all the time in weekly quests like these, so no surprise here. But this week, in particular, it is one of the most annoying weapons you could have to deal with in a mission.
You need to find yourself a pistol of any kind and make sure to deal 250 damage with it to enemies that you meet in a match. Given that this is a pistol challenge, we presume that just about every kind of handgun type will work for this particular quest.
In our case, we like the hand cannon featured again in the Solid Gold limited-time game mode that was out at the time of writing this. That gun deals some massive damage to enemies — close to a third of the damage needed per shot — and you can be done with this pretty quickly.
Alternatively, you can use whatever weapon you like to for this task as not everyone will like the picky nature of the hand cannon so long as you deal a total of 250 damage. It doesn’t have to be in the same match, either, so take your time with this.
The amount of 250 damage is equal to around two players with full health and then a little bit extra or one player with full health and shields and a little bit extra. If Solid Gold isn’t your thing or it is gone by the time you read this, Team Rumble is always our go-to for a reason as it gives you plenty of time and respawns to get the 250 damage.
How to Blow Up a Gas Pump
Next up is a pretty simple task that I’m sure we have already had this season: to collect 500 gold bars in total. Five hundred is a lot for this new mechanic in Season 5, but it is something that you can do with some help from your pals.
In the past, we have found that these gold bars quests will typically work when you are at a party, letting the bars that everyone collects count towards this quest total. That may have changed with this version, but it is worth keeping in mind nonetheless.
As you probably already know, the best way to get gold bars in this game is to accept bounties and other minor quests from the various peaceful NPCs scattered around the map. Some of these will give you upwards of 50 or more gold bars, but it will still take some time this way.
There is another way of getting bars, and that is by eliminating other players, but that isn’t exactly the most efficient way of doing this Week 8 challenge as it doesn’t exactly give you too much per kill. Feel free to take your time with this one, as you can do it across as many matches as you need to.
For the sixth mission this week, we need to blow up a gas pump. We have had to do this in past seasons, and it is back here again. First and foremost, you must find yourself a gas station where you will find some gas pumps to destroy.
We can think of a few gas stations near specific named locations like Pleasant Park, Catty Corner, Retail Row, and Lazy Lake. There are others beyond just those, but the critical part is to find yourself a gas station somewhere on the map.
When you get there, you need to destroy one of the gas pumps at the station. You can do this in a few different ways, but it mainly has to do with just dealing damage. You can use your gun, explosives, and so on to make this thing light up and destroy everything in sight. Just be careful not to be caught up in the explosion.
Week 8 Legendary Quest
The final normal quest this week is to glide a total distance of 3500. That is quite a lot but something that isn’t too tough to do. It will likely take you at least a few matches to do normally unless you just spent a good portion of the beginning of a match gliding around from the bus.
The key here is to place a marker for a place relatively far away that you want to head to. It will tell you the distance that you need to go to get to that location. For instance, let’s say that you mark a place and it says 1500 distance to get there.
Then what you need to do is hop out of the battle bus and then immediately pull out your glider to make sure that you get full credit for this entire distance. It will slow things down and allow you to glide there. Getting around 1000-1500 meters per match is pretty straightforward so keep it up across a few matches, and you should be good to go.
Finally, we have the legendary quest for Week 8 that is only here for a limited time. This week, players have a much easier task than previous ones in just eating fish. This is a five-part multi-stage quest like previous ones. It involves eating increasing amounts of fish.
It starts with 10 and then increases by 10 per stage until it reaches 50 for the max one. It is recommended for a full party of four players as your progress will count for one another. We recommend just heading into Team Rumble, grabbing some fishing poles, and spending the whole match fishing to eat some fish.
At roughly 12 or 13 per player in a party of four, this shouldn’t take you too long this way. But again, this is one that you can take your time with so long as the quest is still around, so do it in as many matches as you need to.
