Fortnite Season 5 Week 10 Challenges Guide: Destroy Sofas, Beds, and Chairs

by in Fortnite | Feb, 4th 2021

Epic Games has ushered in the beginning of the end with the Fortnite Week 10 challenges this week in Season 5. As with any season, the 10th week of missions does mean that the battle royale game’s latest season is beginning to draw to a close, or is it in this case?

Fortnite Week 10 Challenges List

While the Fortnite Week 10 challenges would typically mean the end of a season like Season 5 at this point, it is beginning to look increasingly unlikely that that is going to be happening anytime soon. After all, we are now at the end of a regular season, and nothing from Epic just yet.

This week saw the launch of the Fortnite Mando’s Bounty limited-time mode, which is something that would typically happen earlier in the season and not right at the very end. With little news regarding the future of Season 5, it seems that it is here to stay for a good while longer.

If we had to guess, there is likely at least another month ahead of us in Season 5 and its bounty hunter theme, and so the Fortnite Week 10 challenges might not be the end of the season just yet. We have even heard rumors of new weekly quests beyond this week, but we will have to wait and see for now.

In the meantime, we have the Fortnite Week 10 challenges in Season 5, as always, ready to give us a possible final glimpse at the weekly quests that we have been doing all season long. You can find the full list of the quests this week below, including the latest legendary one:

  • Use three consumable food items
  • Get an elimination with a common weapon
  • Go for a swim at the Lazy Lake
  • Dance near Pleasant Park
  • Deal 300 melee damage to enemies
  • Upgrade weapons at least three times
  • Eliminate five IO guards
  • Legendary quest: Destroy sofas, beds, and chairs (five-stage multi-part challenge recommended for four players)

As you can see, there are eight quests this week, seven of which are normal ones as always and another one that is legendary and only here for a limited time. Overall, I’m going to be honest in letting you know that this is the worst week period of the season thus far in terms of challenges.

The eight challenges this week are all rather uninteresting and very boring. Even the usual “find something here” challenge that would require some excellent detective work for a little bit isn’t even here. It is a bunch of boring tasks that feel disappointing given how awesome last week was in Week 9 of Season 5

Regardless, the Fortnite Week 10 challenges are significant this week since they allow us to earn some valuable experience this season. With no idea of when the season will end, players must reach tier 100 as soon as possible if they want to have that precious Baby Yoda back bling and more.

Where to Find Food

Here’s how to do all of the Fortnite Week 10 challenges this week. Starting with the first one, we have a mission that asks us to eat three consumable food items in battle royale matches. These food items have become increasingly more prevalent as the seasons go on in Chapter 2.

There are various food items that you can eat, from apples to vegetables and even mushrooms. They are all scattered around the island and are becoming easier to find than ever before. For this mission, you need to find three of them and use them to finish it off.

We recommended some normal places for past versions of this mission, like heading to Weeping Woods or The Orchard, but that isn’t necessary anymore. Just heading into a normal building or house will give you the likely chance of finding some food items.

You see, there are food boxes typically found on top of tables and counters in homes that you can interact with. They aren’t always the easiest to locate since they blend in with everything, but they can give around three food items per box. Open one of these up, consume the items, and you are likely good to go on this challenge.

Next up is another simple task, and it is the eliminations one this week. You need to get an elimination with a common weapon. It doesn’t matter at all which weapon you use, so long as it is of the boring common variety you can find just about.

It could be an SMG, assault rifle, pistol, and so on. The hardest part about this is that the game is asking you to use a weapon that is otherwise not that great. But other than that, it is pretty simple since you can find common weapons anywhere on the ground in Fortnite.

Our recommendation is to head to a medium popular location like Pleasant Park or Lazy Lake that isn’t too popular but is probably guaranteed to have a few players there at the start of the match. Find yourself a common weapon of your liking and then proceed to eliminate someone with it.

Given that you can only use a common weapon for this task, it is highly recommended that you do this early on in the match as later rounds will see other players having much better weapon rarities. At that point, you should have already ditched the common weapons you have.

Where to Go for a Swim at Lazy Lake

Following up on that is the next mission: to go for a swim at Lazy Lake. This is at least a bit more interesting than the last one but still very easy to do and not exactly that engaging. Going for a swim is something that you probably do naturally in matches anyways.

Well, for this mission, you need to make sure that you go for a swim at Lazy Lake. The thing to keep in mind here is the location that you need to swim at. Presumably, Epic Games is not just talking about Lazy Lake’s named location but, instead, the actual lake that it is named after.

This would be the massive body of water in the southern part of the Season 5 island north of Misty Meadows and west of the titular named location Lazy Lake. This large lake is where you will want to go for a nice little swim to ensure that you have completed this quest. Hop in the water there, look for the quest completed notification, and you are done.

After that, coming up is a similarly weird but easy task that you need to do somewhere on the island. This one is to dance near Pleasant Park. Again, this is a random task that you are likely already doing in some matches anyways.

What you need to do is just head to Pleasant Park in a match. The game type doesn’t matter, but we recommend that you head there earlier on as it is very likely that the first or second circle will not include this location in it, so landing there first after leaving the battle bus might be best.

When you get to Pleasant Park, you need to make sure that you are close enough to the named location and then do your favorite dance emote while you are there. The emote doesn’t matter all that much, so long as you make sure to see that notification pop up that you completed this quest.

How to Upgrade Weapons

Coming up after that is a quest that requires us to deal some melee damage to other players in various matches. In total, you need to deal 300 damage, which is a pretty high amount considering that the method of the damage must be melee damage rather than through regular weapons.

Melee damage essentially means that you must be using your pickaxe to damage enemies since there aren’t many other melee weapons out there in the game currently. Deal 300 damage with a pickaxe will likely take you a while and be annoying in the process.

For reference, 300 damage is around three players with just full health or one player with full health and shields another player who has full health. You are trying to deal around three players-worth of damage with only your pickaxe, which is not easy.

For this, we highly recommend the Team Rumble game mode. You have an unlimited number of respawns in this mode until the other team or yours gets the necessary eliminations to win. As such, you can waste entire matches just landing near an enemy and mashing at them with your pickaxe.

You could undoubtedly get the 300 in one match of Team Rumble if that is all you do, but you can also take your time with this challenge and try to get as much melee damage as you can in each match you do.

Next up, you need to upgrade your weapon at least three times. It doesn’t have to be the same weapon each time you upgrade one of your weapons and do it three different times. Upgrading is a feature that has been in the game for some time and involves reaching an upgrade station.

You can typically find at least one of these at just about every named location out there, but one of our favorites is at Holly Hedges, where you are less likely to run into other players. For upgrading, you need a whole lot of materials of all three classes, so we recommend gathering them up as you go in the match and then trying to upgrade at least once per match you do.

How to Destroy Sofas, Beds, and Chairs

From there, we come to the last of the normal quests this week, and it is to eliminate five IO guards. This is something that we saw recently in another challenge, but we have to eliminate five of them this time. IO guards, for those who don’t know, are the new NPC enemy types this season.

They come up out of an elevator randomly selected in each match, and you can fight at them for some valuable loot. They are typically pretty difficult to take down since there are a few of them at each IO location, so we recommend bringing a full squad of pals to help with this.

IO guard locations on the island are several possible, but our personal favorite is at Hunters Haven. This location seems to have IO guards almost always in the middle of it in each match that we do. But it is a popular destination so be very careful if you end up heading here.

You don’t have to eliminate all five IO guards in one match. You are unlikely to run into five of them in a single match anyways o it is best to take out a few in each match you do until you can get all five.

We come to the last quest this week and potentially for the whole season in terms of weekly challenges, and that is our legendary quest. This week, players need to destroy various sofas, beds, and chairs. These random furniture objects need to be destroyed and a whole lot of them, too.

It is a legendary quest, so it is timed and has five parts to it, with a reward given for each one completed. Stage one is to destroy 20 sofas, beds, and chairs. It increases by 20 at each stage, with you needing to destroy 100 in total if you want all of the rewards.

For this, you need to head to a random house on the map, go inside, and destroy those three items as you see them. Places with a lot of houses include Pleasant Park and Retail Row, among others. This is recommended for a full party of four since there is so much that you have to destroy. We recommend grabbing some pals and spending a few matches destroying everything in all of the island’s houses that you can find.
