Fortnite Season 4 Week 4 Challenges Guide: How to Destroy Collector’s Cases, More

by in Fortnite | Sep, 17th 2020

Epic Games has released the latest Fortnite weekly challenges that players can complete this week and for the remainder of the current Season 4 of battle royale. The Fortnite Week 4 challenges offer a wide variety of tasks for players to complete for rewards.

Fortnite Week 4 Challenges List

The Fortnite Week 4 challenges are some of the least interesting ones overall that we have seen this season, but that doesn’t stop them from still being leaps and bounds better than what we got last season. There is just a bit of a dip in quality this week, minus a couple of tasks.

Like always, there are a good number of challenges that you can do this week. The rewards associated with them will make the required efforts a lot more worth it since the experience will be a huge help this season. You can find the full list of the Fortnite Week 4 challenges below:

  • Search for seven treasure chests at Slurpy Swamp
  • Get three eliminations at Weeping Woods
  • Deal 100 damage within 10 seconds of bouncing off of an umbrella at Sweaty Sands
  • Destroy three Collector cases at The Collection
  • Hack five Stark robots at Stark Industries
  • Destroy 20 Gatherers
  • Deal 10,000 damage with a Gatherer’s remains (recommended for a full team of four players to do this one)

As always, there are seven Fortnite Week 4 challenges that you can do this week for the usual experience rewards. As you can see, there are some of the standard ones we usually get, some copycats we’ve had before, and then a few new ones that we have never seen before.

The new ones aren’t the most exciting we have had in a while, but they do take full advantage of the new mechanics and areas in Season 4 like The Collection and hacking the Stark robots. These can be tough to figure out, which is where we come in. Here’s how to complete all of the Fortnite Week 4 challenges this week.

How to Search Chests and Get Eliminations

Kicking off this list is the standard challenge that we get every week, and it is almost always the first one that we can see: finding a whole bunch of treasure chests. As usual, there are seven that we need to find. This week’s destination is none other than Slurpy Swamp.

Slurpy Swamp is the usual swampy, nasty named location in the southwest corner of the island, and that is where we need to head to in order to complete this particular challenge. Chests are pretty plentiful here if you happen to look in the right areas.

Like the treasure chest location last week in the Week 3 challenges, you will need to look only in one spot: the main factory at the center of Slurpy Swamp. You aren’t going to find too many in the swamp itself, so you have to look for them in the factory’s various buildings.

That said, this is a rather small area. There will probably be many players heading to this small area looking for seven chests. There just aren’t going to be enough to go around, so be prepared for this to take you a few matches to find all seven needed for this particular mission.

For this task, it is highly recommended that you do it in the Team Rumble mode to have less competition looking for these chests and that you land here at the start of the match. This will help you to at least be able to get a couple of chests per match.

The next mission that we have is the usual eliminations one. You have to get three eliminations at Weeping Woods. This is right near the chests challenge, so you could try to attempt this in the same Team Rumble matches that you do the other ones.

Though there are fewer players in the Weeping Woods matches, you could still easily get all three eliminations here since there are respawns and the like, but only if there are players here. It can be tough to predict where players will go in Team Rumble. So, a normal battle royale match might be a better option.

Just make sure to land here at the start of the match and try to gear up as quickly as possible so that you can take someone out. Make your goal to get one elimination per match at Weeping Woods, and you can knock this out in just a few matches.

How to Destroy Collector Cases at The Collection

For the third challenge this week, you need to deal 100 damage within 10 seconds of bouncing off an umbrella at Sweaty Sands. This is a simple task but honestly, one of the hardest missions that we have ever seen, and it will likely be the most challenging one this week.

100 damage is pretty simple as it is about one life that has no shields, so you just need to deal enough damage to pretty much take someone out. That said, you need to do it in 10 seconds, which isn’t too hard, but the problem is the circumstances surrounding it.

Not only do you have to deal the 100 damage in 10 seconds, but it must be at Sweaty Sands, and it must be right after bouncing off of one of the umbrellas that you can find there. At Sweaty Sands, you will find these umbrellas at the beach where they are scattered all over here.

The problem is making sure you can deal the 100 damage and that there is a player around to do that. So, Team Rumble isn’t necessarily the best option here unless the enemy side is at Sweaty Sand since you might not be able to find enemies here.

In this case, normal battle royale might be the better option, but it also means that you are likely to get attacked by other players trying to do this same task. We recommend equipping a shotgun or explosive weapon before jumping off the umbrella as they can deal a lot of damage real fast to get the required 100 amount. You might need to try this a few times to get it.

Next up, you need to destroy three Collector cases at The Collection, an unmarked landmark location on the Season 4 map. If you don’t know where this place is, you will find it in the snowy mountains just east of Catty Corner and south of Retail Row.

It is a small area that isn’t hard to find. You will see these strange Collectors cases scattered around the place. There are many of them, and you only need to destroy three to do this whole challenge in a single match. All you need to do is make sure to land here at the start and mash them away with your pickaxe.

How to Hack Robots and Destroy Gatherers

Next up is another newer mission to hack five of the Stark robots at Stark Industries. First, the Stark Industries named location took over Frenzy Farm recently, and you will need to head there. There are a lot of robots at this location, so you should have no problem finding them.

To hack a robot, though, what you must do first is shoot or damage them until they are knocked down but don’t kill them just yet. You need to approach them, and you will see the option to hack them. Interact with them to hack them, and this will allow them to become your ally.

This is a great move that can help you out a lot since you will have more firepower to take down Iron Man and other players. For this challenge, you need to hack five Stark robots in total. This can be done all in the same match, but you can also aim to get a few in each match you do if you want to take it easy.

The next mission is all about taking out 20 Gatherers in total. This is a tricky thing that is new to Fortnite in Season 4 and will take some explanations. Gatherers are new drones that you can take out this season but are different from the supply drones that fly around the Quinjet spots.

They only show up in one spot per match, and it is completely random, so we aren’t able to give you the location. However, it is rather easy to find the spot as, after a couple of minutes have passed, a tall beam of red light will spawn somewhere on the map and can be seen from almost everywhere.

That indicates the location of the Gorger, which is the NPC baddie that spawns the Gatherer drones. Head to this location but make sure to have tons of equipment on you and, preferably, some teammates to help you out. The Gorger is similar to the zombie enemies in that he will continue to spawn these drones as long as he is alive.

So, you mustn’t take out the Gorger so that you can continue to defeat the Gatherer drones until you have 20 done. You can always continue in the next match if you need to, though. But don’t stop here as the final challenge this week requires you to deal with the Gatherers.

How to Deal Damage With a Gatherer’s Remains

The last challenge that we have this week is all about the Gatherers as well. Instead of just destroying them, though, you need to destroy it and then wait for it to fall to the ground. You then need to immediately head on over to its body before it completely explodes.

Interact with it, and you will be able to pick up the Gatherer’s remains and use it as a weapon in your inventory. This weapon is a powerful laser beam with unlimited ammo to keep using it for the rest of the battle royale match if you so choose.

With that laser beam body of the drone, you need to deal 10,000 damage, which is a whole lot of damage for one person to do. That is why this is highly recommended for a full team of four players to complete together. So, we recommend that you grab some friends and head into a match of Team Rumble.

This will allow your team to keep dealing damage with the weapons until you have the required 10,000. You can complete this in tandem with the Gatherer’s challenge from before as you can destroy one, pick up its body, and then use it to deal damage and destroy the other drones. 10,000 is a lot, but if you do this with a party in Team Rumble, it can be done much faster.

Fortnite Week 4 Challenges Rewards

With all seven challenges done, you are going to get some impressive experience rewards. For completing each of them, you will get 25,000 experience per challenge that you do. That isn’t as much as last season, but it is a good enough amount that will add up over time and get you one step closer to getting tier 100 this season and the Iron Man skin.
