Fortnite Season 3 Week 3 Challenges Guide
It’s Thursday once again this week, so you know what that means: the Fortnite Week 3 challenges are here to check out and complete. This week is a bit different from the first two weeks, including challenges like collecting Lazy Lake floating rings and dancing on top of a crane.
Fortnite Week 3 Challenges List
With the release of the Fortnite Week 3 challenges, we have entered the third week of the third season in chapter two. This week is an interesting one. We haven’t seen anything new for the season at this time post-launch in terms of map changes and the like. A new patch is likely incoming with more changes and features soon.
But until then, we have some challenges to complete that will give you some awesome experience rewards and help you on your way to tier 100. And if the normal weekly challenges aren’t enough for you, there is more to do this week with the start of the Summer Splash event that is live right now.
But before you jump into that, here are the Fortnite Week 3 challenges that you can do this week and for the rest of the season:
- Search through seven chest or ammo boxes at Misty Meadows
- Get three eliminations at The Authority
- Collecting four floating rings at Lazy Lake
- Dance on top of the crane at Rickety Rig
- Deal 100 damage from inside a cornfield at Frenzy Farm
- Destroy two cards within 60 seconds of landing at Retail Row from the battle bus
- Land a Choppa at the bottom of one of the Steam Stacks
- Deal 200 damage to opponents at Catty Corner
What is striking about the Fortnite Week 3 challenges is one thing that is easily missed: there are eight challenges this week. That’s right, it seems that Epic has heard the community’s cry about not a ton of missions this season and is giving us more than we were getting for the first two weeks.
In the first two weeks, there were only seven challenges available for players to do and that has since been increased to now eight. It could increase further and eventually reach 10, the number of tasks that we could do in the first two seasons of chapter two. Here’s how to do all of the Fortnite Week 3 challenges this week.
How to Search Chests and Get Eliminations
First off, we begin this week with two rather simple and classic challenges that are here every week but with slight changes. The first challenge on the list this week is to search for treasure chests and ammo boxes at Misty Meadows.
The mission is the same, but the location is a different one. Misty Meadows has faded into the background this season with so many new locations. It is nearly isolated along with Lazy Lake and some other areas in that southeastern section that hasn’t changed much.
All you need to do is head to Misty Meadows early on in the match, and you should be able to grab a couple of chests and/or ammo boxes there before others do. It is fine if you don’t get all seven in one go, as you can pick back up in the next match you do.
Next up is the classic eliminations one, where you need to get three eliminations at The Authority. The eliminations don’t have to be in the same match either. So, we recommend that you head here at the start of the match and try to get gear as fast as possible so that you can take out any enemies that you come across.
But one thing that you should keep in mind is that The Authority is the very center of the season 3 map, and replaced The Agency from the past season. As such, it is likely the most popular location in the game already, but this challenge will make it more popular and even more difficult with potentially lots of players here, so watch out.
How to Collect Floating Rings and Dance on the Crane
For the next challenge, we come to one that is a bit more engaging and interesting than the first two Fortnite Week 3 challenges. We need to collect four floating rings at Lazy Lake. First and foremost, what are these floating rings and how do you collect them if they are floating?
This isn’t like the rings from past seasons where you had to skydive through them. Instead, smaller floating rings that are sometimes easy to get and others are difficult to find. There are only four in total at Lazy Lake, so you will need to get all of them for this mission.
There is a floating ring that is rather easy to get in the northeastern section of the town. Here, you will find a gate that is the entrance to the town and is right near here. You should be able to grab it by just running through it easily.
Next up is a rather hard one to get. There is a No Sweat Insurance building that is large and takes a big portion of Lazy Lake facing north. The entrance to this building has one of these blue floating rings on it, above the doorway to enter the building.
You will need to either skydive down and grab it while coming down or building yourself up a ramp to get it. This will require gathering materials, so we recommend grabbing a whole bunch before trying to get these four rings.
From there, head to the southeast section of the town and find the Big Shots restaurant. There is a floating ring here on the right side of the building near the wall. It isn’t too high up, so just a couple of ramps should do the job and let you collect it.
From there, there is one final floating ring that you must pick up in Lazy Lake. Right near the middle of the named location is a massive tree. This tree has a blue floating ring right on top of it, so you can either glide down here at the start of the match or take your time making your way up to get it.
Next up is to dance on top of the crane at Rickety Rig. If you don’t know Rickety Rig, it is one of the new areas in season 3 that replaced The Rig and is similar but different to it. In the main island portion of Rickety Rig, there is a big red crane that you can see near the top of the named location.
You will need to head here right from the start of the match so that you can carefully glide down and land on top of the big red crane. Once you are here, this challenge is simple as all you need to do is do your favorite dance emote and you are good to go.
How to Deal Damage From Inside a Cornfield
For the fifth challenge in Week 3, you need to deal 100 damage from inside a cornfield at Frenzy Farm. This is a rather specific challenge, but it isn’t as hard as it may sound. But there is some timing and luck involved that can make it harder than you might like.
First and foremost, head to Frenzy Farm at the start of a match. Once you are there, grab the best gear that you can find. Then head to any of the cornfields that are surrounding this named location and go inside. Here, you will likely hear and find other players trying to do this same challenge.
But this is also where the luck aspect comes into play because it is all predicated on the hope that other players are also trying to do this challenge at the same time. So, you need to hope that other players will head here and damage them. All you need is 100 damage or equal to an elimination of a player with full health and no shields.
If you don’t get all 100 damage in one match, that is fine as you can try again in the next match until you get the total amount. Next up is another oddly specific one that has to do with destroying tow cards within a minute of landing at Retail Row from the battle bus.
What you want to do here is head to Retail Row at the start of the match and look for some of the cars that are in this area. Your best bet is likely to land near the shopping mall/center, the crux of Retail Row, as there will likely be some cars here.
As soon as you land, head for one of the cars, destroy it, find another one, and destroy it, and you are done with this mission. The problem is that there are only so many cars. There will likely be other players trying to do the same thing, so may your pickaxe swings be ever swift and accurate.
How to Land a Choppa and Find Catty Corner
For the penultimate challenge this week, we have yet another strange and oddly specific one. You need to land a Choppa at the bottom of one of the Steam Stacks. Before that, head to any of the helipad bases this season like at The Authority and grab a Choppa.
Team Rumble might be great for this mission since fewer players could take the helicopter before you. Once you have a Choppa, fly it over to Steamy Stacks in the northeastern corner of the map and hover over one of the stacks that are the heart of the named location.
Slowly descend the stack, land it in the middle of it, and complete it. This is an easy task but a random one that takes a bit of time and patience to do if you aren’t used to landing the Choppa, but it shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish.
Finally, the last challenge this week is to deal 200 damage to opponents at Catty Corner. Catty Corner is one of the new named locations this season found in the southeastern corner of the map near Lazy Lake, Misty Meadows, Retail Row, and the like.
It is the place where Meowscles went to after losing The Yacht last season to Deadpool. The warehouse here has since been upgraded to a full-on named location. You need to head here at the start of the match and try to get as much damage as you can on the enemies here.
200 is a fair amount, equal to two basic eliminations or one full one where the player has both full health and shields. If you don’t get 200 in one match, that is fine as you can keep going in each match until it adds up to 200.
Fortnite Week 3 Challenges Reward
This week, the eight challenges have the same reward of giving you experience for your efforts in completing them. You are going to get 35,000 experience for each one that you do this week, for a total of 280,000 XP if you can do all eight, which will certainly help you on your way to tier 100 in the season 3 battle pass.
