Are New FIFA 21 Objectives and Squad Building Challenges Worth the Effort?

by in Sports Games | May, 19th 2021

The sixth season of FIFA 21 is going great so far! We’ve had plenty of awesome cards to snatch, and the folks over at EA are making sure that stays the same for a bit longer. Let’s take a closer look at the all-new FIFA 21 objectives and SBCs and see which cards are worth the effort, be it for your first squad, as super subs, of SBC fodder.

New FIFA 21 Objectives and SBCs

The all-new set of season 6 objectives is already here. Here’s a closer look at the three special player cards you can get by finishing various in-game missions!

New Objectives

Flashback Roussillon

Jérôme Roussillon 89

All missions in Live FUT Friendly: Bundesliga Best

  • Assist five goals using defenders
  • Assist two goals with crosses
  • Score 15 goals
  • Win eight matches
  • Score a finesse goal in 12 separate matches

Now this card seems absolutely awesome! Not only are the missions relatively easy to complete (they could take a while though), but the card itself has the perfect mixture of stats, nation, natural position, and league.

You see, Roussillon is a French LB who plays in the German Bundesliga. There are just a few alternative players which are on his level. I mean just look at those numbers; 93 pace, 88 dribbling, 84 passing, 88 physical, and 86 defending. Heck, we might as well mention shooting too – 73 means he won’t shy away from finishing every now and then.

TOTS Moments Amiri

All missions in Squad Battles (Pro or World Class) or Division Rivals

Amiri face
Nadiem Amiri
  • Score five outside-of-the-box goals
  • Assist in three separate matches with four-star skill moves player (min World Class)
  • Score using Bundesliga players in seven separate matches (min World Class)
  • Assist with a through ball using German players in 10 separate matches (min Pro)

Leverkusen’s Amiri finally got a respectable card. 90 OVR  with everything above 80 except defense which is at 78… nothing a proper chemistry style can’t fix, though! However, whether or not this FIFA 21 objective is worth it depends solely on your current squad.

If you’re building it around Bundesliga or German players and you need someone to play next to your TOTS Gundogan, then Amiri is the right choice. Heck, even if you don’t have a Bundesliga squad, my boy Amiri ought to serve well as a super sub. Heck, he’s good as an SBC fodder too; the missions are way too simple to pass up on a 90 OVR player!

TOTS Corona

All missions in Squad Battles (Pro or World Class) or Division Rivals

Corona face
Jesus Corona
  • Score using Liga NOS players in 3 separate matches (min World Class)
  • Score in 2 separate matches using players with 5-star weak foot (min Pro)
  • Assist using Mexican players in 3 separate matches with at least 5 Liga NOS players in your starting squad (min Pro)
  • Score in 6 matches using players with min 4-star weak foot (min World Class)

Corona seems like a fine card, but unless you’re specifically building a Liga NOS team or your icon-packed squad needs a good all-around RM, I see no reason to pick this one up. It’s just one of those FIFA 21 objectives that’s just not worth the hassle.

New SBCs

Now that we’ve gone through the three key FIFA 21 objectives, let’s say a few words about the ongoing squad building challenges. More precisely, let’s address the six currently available special player cards. Keep in mind, though, you have just two or three days left to complete these challenges!

Dan-Axel Zagadou

Requirements:

Zagadou face
Dan-Axel Zagadou
  • Borussia Dortmund
    • Dortmund players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 83
    • Team chemistry min 75
  • Bundesliga
    • Bundesliga players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 84
    • Team Chemistry min 65

Unfortunately, Zagadou has two-star skill moves and three-star weak foot. While the former isn’t that bad, the latter could cause headaches when going up against high-pressure opponents. As far as new FIFA 21 objectives and SBCs are concerned, there are better options out there than Dan-Axel Zagadou… though the requirements aren’t too high if you’re just looking for a 90 OVR fodder.

Demarai Gray

Requirements:

Gray face
Demarai Gray
  • Leverkusen
    • Leverkusen players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 83
    • Team chemistry min 75
  • Bundesliga
    • Bundesliga players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 84
    • Team Chemistry min 65

Are you a fan of ePL and Bundesliga mixtures? Do you like pacey wingers with exceptional finishing abilities? If you’re all about that sort of things, then this 90 OVR Demarai Gray is going to be your next FIFA 21 crush!

He’s not that difficult to get! You need 83 and 84 teams with Leverkusen/Bundesliga player(s) and at least one TOTW or TOTS card. That’s not a high price to pay for such a prolific winger who can be properly connected in various ways!

Jude Bellingham

Requirements:

Bellingham face
Jude Bellingham
  • Borussia Dortmund
    • Dortmund players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 80
    • Team chemistry min 70
  • Bundesliga
    • Bundesliga players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 85
    • Team Chemistry min 60
  • National Duty
    • England players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 84
    • Team chemistry min 65

You gotta love this card! Four-star on both ends, high/medium work rate, and all main stats above 86. If you’re looking for the definition of a superb all-around central midfielder, it’s Jude Bellingham. The young English prodigy will fit with all kinds of teams. No matter if you’re focusing on Bundesliga, Premier League, or England/Icons mix, Bellingham will fit right in!

Kevin Mbabu

Requirements:

Mbabu face
Kevim Mbabu
  • Borussia Dortmund
    • Dortmund players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 83
    • Team chemistry min 80
  • Top Form
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 84
    • Team Chemistry min 75
  • 86-Rated Squad
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 86
    • Team chemistry min 65

I can’t really recommend this card! I know the overall stats are looking great, but he has three-star week foot which is a bit scary for an RB/LF card. Plus, his medium defensive rate isn’t really ideal, depending on which formation you’re using. Plus, the requirements are a bit higher than I imagined at first. I’m not going to be chasing this one, that’s for sure!

Pepe

Requirements:

Pepe face
Pepe
  • Portugal
    • Portugal players min 1
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 84
    • Team chemistry min 75

Pepe is a legend, no doubt about that. You can either love him or hate him… but no matter which side you’re on, you have to admit he’s a world-class player. So is this card, though you might have trouble finding the right links to him.

Icon goalie plus Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias is the perfect combination here. That’s a quality defensive trio if I’ve ever seen one! Heck, you only need an 84 rated team to get Pepe, meaning it’s a good exchange even if you aim to use him as SBC fodder. An 84 team with at least one TOTS or TOTW player isn’t too much for a 91 OVR star, especially if you have a lot of untradeable cards in your club.

Silas Wamangituka

Requirements:

Wamangituka face
Silas Wamangituka
  • Top Form
    • TOTW or TOTS players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 85
    • Team chemistry min 65
  • Bundesliga
    • Bundesliga players min 1
    • Team overall rating min 84
    • Team Chemistry min 75

Wamangituka is an absolute beast! He’s a must-have in your Bundesliga team, one of the best cards available in that position. Yep, even better than my boy Sancho! The only downsides are the three-star week foot and 82 reactions, but I’m ready to forgive that since the rest of his arsenal is absolutely packed!

Brand-New FIFA 21 Update

In addition to new FIFA 21 objectives and squad building challenges, the game also got a brand-new update, FIFA Title Update #15. There’s a bunch of updates to career mode CONMEBOL competitions, including seeding, competition structure, and team/roster updates. The newest FIFA 21 update also features fixes in Ultimate Team, Volta, and Career Mode, among some other minor touches.

That’d be all for today, guys! Are you going to work on completing some of these objectives and SBCs in the coming days? Tell us more in the comments section!
