2022 Game Awards Reveal Cuphead DLC, Alan Wake 2, and More

The 2022 Game Awards have come and gone, and the one night that people were waiting for this year came with a lot of new content that many players weren’t expecting at first. However, with multiple hours of content to go through, the total amount of games that were announced totals around 44 games. Here’s everything that was announced at the Game Awards this year.
Game Awards Reveals
Tunic
Coming out for PC, and Xbox, Tunic tells the story of a little fox on a big adventure. The game is heavily inspired by games like the original Legend of Zelda, and a Link to the past. However, this new title takes the genre to a new level. The game is completely in 3D and some of the helpful hints to progress in the game are found by looking at the manual for the game. However, the pages are missing, scattered inside of the game world.
The game is slated to come out on March 16th, 2022.
KOF 15 Second Beta
King Of Fighters 15 Is getting a second beta coming to PS4 and PS5. The game recently announced a new character, Krohnen, whose weapon-oriented move set will keep players on their toes. The second open Beta for King of Fighters 15 requires anyone who downloaded the beta to update their game files.
King of Fighters 15 is launching on PS4 and PS5 on February 27th, 2022.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game
Asymmetrical horror titles are starting to become a dime a dozen thanks to the popularity of games like Dead by Daylight, and now a new one is about to enter the fray. Developed by Sumo Digital, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is going to get its own video game adaption, that’s going to pit players against Leatherface to see who’s going to be able to make it out alive.
There’s no confirmed release date for the title.
Homeworld 3
The sci-fi RTS series Homeworld is getting a third installment, and players are once again going to be able to take control of massive fleets to engage in high-stakes space combat as the story of Homeworld unfolds around them. The game is going to come with a new and improved ballistics system, offering more realistic targeting and deploying of weapons, which can turn the tides of battle if implemented correctly. The fleet the player controls will persist between battles and ship captains and strike pilots will relay information to one another, which can help the player in situations.
The game is planning on releasing in Q4 of 2022.
Telltale’s The Expanse
Telltale may not be the same company that they once were, but they’re still around to make new games. Previously the company worked with HBO to make a game based on their hit adaptation of Game of Thrones. Now, they’re working with Amazon to make a show based on their adaption of The Expanse. The title is going to put players into the shoes of the character Carmina Drummer, who’s going to be played by the same actress who played her in the series.
The game is going to take place before the show, and in true Telltale fashion, the player is going to have to make some tough decisions that are going to impact the rest of the game as time goes on.
The game doesn’t have a release date, nor have they announced what platforms it’s coming for.
Babylon’s Fall
Square Enix is teaming up with an unlikely company to deliver a new action RPG. Babylon’s Fall is an action RPG developed by Square Enix and Platinum Games. The title is going to be a co-op action RPG, with the ability to play with more than one person. Players are going to be able to wield up to four weapons and customize almost every aspect of their character.
Players will then be forced to conquer the tower of babel to discover its many treasures, as well as fight the many malevolent enemies that dwell within its cursed walls.
Babylon’s Fall comes out for PC and PlayStation on March 3rd, 2022.
Chivalry 2
There’s not a lot of melee-focused first-person titles, but one series that managed to fill that void is the medieval first-person title Chivalry. The game puts players in a slightly comedic version of the medieval world. Players have to focus on blocking and landing their melee attacks on their enemies if they expect to come out on top. Chivalry 2 is out now, and the developers have announced that the game is going to be free to play on Steam until December 12th. With the free weekend, the game is going to see an increase in player count.
Monster Hunter Expansion Sunbreak
Another trailer was shown for Monster Hunter Sunbreak. While the trailer doesn’t show much, what it does reveal is a new character for the game, which is someone who claims to be some form of royalty. This character is also seen later in the trailer, riding a boat to the new hub area.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak launches in the summer of 2022 for both PC and Nintendo Switch.
Thirsty Suitors
Thirsty Suitors is a game that puts the players in the shoes of a character named Jala, who’s returning to her small hometown for her sister’s wedding. However, it seems that her past is catching up to her. Apparently, Jala has had her fair share of nasty breakups, and on top of her overbearing parents, it sounds like all of her previous exes are now ganging up on her. With a game that seems like it was ripped right out of the world of Scott Pilgrim, players are going to have to make sure they’re up for the challenge of defeating Jala’s past and helping her become a better person.
There’s no solid release date for the game, but the developers say that Thirsty Suitors is coming “soon.”
Evil West
The Wild West has been taken over by a dark menace, and it looks like there’s only one man who’s capable of sending the denizens of hell back where they came from. Players take control of a demon-slaying cowboy and engage in visceral third-person combat using wild west weapons and mythical abilities. Players are going to be able to take on the onslaught of ghouls and goblins by themselves, or by working with a friend through the game’s online co-op. The fate of the new frontier is in the hands of the player.
The game is set to come out on PC in 2022.
Have a Nice Death
Have a Nice Death puts players in the shoes of Death himself as the head of Death Inc. Death has been fed up with the fact that his own subordinates aren’t doing any work. With all the paperwork flooding the company, Death’s done with messing with papers. If something needs to be done, it’s better if it’s done yourself.
Players will work their way through Death Inc., fighting their subordinates and whipping everyone back into shape. However, Death can’t die, but he can be sent back to his desk. Death Inc. is ever-changing, and inside this roguelike game, players are going to be using what they’ve learned to continue their journey through the many departments of the company. They can also opt to give Death some buffs, but if the player is doing well, the minions in Death Inc. might get a boost of their own if they notice that the CEO is “power tripping.”
Have a Nice Death doesn’t have a set platform, however, the game is going to be in early access in March of 2022.
Planet of Lana: An off Planet Odyssey
A Cinematic Trailer for Planet of Lana: An Off Planet Odyssey was revealed today. The trailer showed the player character on a desert planet, being attacked by rogue robots while riding a friendly robot. However, they found themselves being caught and left with a small character. The game is described by the developers as a game where everything isn’t a fight.
Planet of Lana Launches in 2022 for PC and Xbox.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
Persona has been a series that’s been getting more recognition over time. The game series continues to find a new life outside of its home console the PlayStation. Persona 4, and Persona 5 Strikers have been ported to other consoles. However, one of the more requested games has made its way to the PC. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax tells the story of what happens after the events of Persona 4, but instead, turns the game from a turn-based RPG into a proper fighting game. Now the title is coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch.
The game releases on March 17th, 2022.
Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga
The sequel to the critically acclaimed Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice got a brand new gameplay trailer that was one of the most impressive displays of how far Ninja Theory has come as a developer. The games surprising display of graphical fidelity meshes the cutscenes to the actual gameplay. The trailer shows Senua and a group of warriors attempting to take down a large humanoid creature.
Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga is coming to both PC and Xbox.
Star Wars: Eclipse
A new narratively driven Star Wars game is coming to consoles. The game is going to seemingly take players to the High Republic era of Star Wars, taking control of all manner of characters in a galaxy far, far away.
The game is being developed by the minds behind Detroit Become Human and Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream. The game doesn’t have any release date, nor any platform. Instead, the game is in “early development.”
Wonder Woman
Monolith, the people behind the Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor, is working on a new action game. However, the company is switching its properties. Moving from Lord of the Rings to DC, Monolith is going to be tackling one of the comic companies’ most popular heroes, Wonder Woman. No gameplay was shown from the trailer, but we did a look at Monolith’s design of the character.
There’s no release date for the character, nor is there any indication of what platform the game is coming to.
Alan Wake 2
The heavily anticipated Alan Wake 2 has finally been announced. The game received a cinematic trailer showing off the new design for the character, and Sam Lake took to the stage with Geoff Keighley to talk a little more about the game.
According to Lake, the game is going to be different from what Remedy has done previously with the character. Since Alan Wake’s first bout, the series has been more of a horror-action title, but this is going to change with the sequel. Lake promises players that Alan Wake 2 is going to be Remedy’s first survival horror title. What this is going to entail is up to interpretation for now. However, Alan Wake 2 is going to launch in 2023 on PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store.
Horizon: Forbidden West
Another trailer for Horizon: Forbidden West was shown to players at the Game Awards. While not much substance was shown, this gameplay trailer provided players with some gameplay from the title, showing off Aloy’s abilities and combat against the robotic dinosaurs wandering the Forbidden West. This includes a massive snake robot and some other mechanical creatures that are going to haunt Aloy as she journeys through the post-apocalyptic Rocky Mountains.
Horizon: Forbidden West is coming out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18th, 2022.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a title that’s been on players’ minds for ages. With not much information about the second part of the game coming out in the meantime, they’ve been left wondering when they’re going to get their hands on the second half of Square Enix’s remake.
However, while it looked like some announcement for that was coming, that wasn’t the case. Instead, it was announced that the PS5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and its special intergrade mission, is coming to PC. The game is going to come out on Epic Game Store exclusively, and players are going to get their first chance to play it on the computer when it launches on Epic Games Store on December 16th, 2021.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
Destiny 2 continues its massive amount of expansions with a new look at The Witch Queen. Players are going to be able to head back to Mars and take on all-new enemies. One of the most astounding changes coming to the game is that when players go to Mars, they’re going to be met with Hive Guardians that can rise once more, just like the player.
On top of this, players are going to be able to fight through a new raid, new locations, and be able to craft their own weapons, as well as try out the new weapon type, the Melee/Projectile weapon called the Glaives. Geoff Keighley mentioned after the trailer for the expansion that everything shown in the trailer is only from the first mission of the expansion. With Bungie celebrating its 30th anniversary this month, more content is on the way, including a replica of the games most infamous rocket launcher.
Destiny 2, The Witch Queen, is going to launch on February 22nd, 2022.
Slitterhead
No one knows horror like Keiichiro Toyama, the creator of the Silent Hill games. After leaving Konami to make his own studio, Bokeh Game Studio, he’s finally announced his new game. The title is called Slitterhead, and players are going to find themselves in the middle of a world filled with people who aren’t who they’re supposed to be. It’s not clear if the game is something like an alien invasion, but the concept is similar to the manga Parasyte: The Maxim. Enemies are going to look like normal people, but when they know they’re alone, they’re going to metamorphose into horrid beasts that the player is going to have to find some way to run away from. Aside from the cinematic trailer for the game, there’s no information about the title.
Nightingale
Taking a page out of open-world base building titles like Rust and The Forest, Nightingale puts players into the shoes of a person who’s been trapped in an alternate Victorian world after an arcane portal network collapses, players are going to have to tame the world around them, construct places to live, and work together in this shared open-world title. However, even though the player has a place to call home, they’re not going to be safe for long. as enemies can come and wreak havoc on the hard work the player and their companions have put together.
Nightingale launches in 2022 as Early Access on PC.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum
A new Lord of the Rings title is coming out, and the player is going to take control of one of the most well-recognized characters in the world: Gollum. However, this game isn’t going to be based on the Peter Jackson films, it’s instead of going to be based on the books. Players are going to take control of the character and make their way through Middle Earth. The choices that the player makes will directly impact the personality of Gollum, it’s up to the player to decide whether or not his evil instincts run wild, or if Smeagol’s reasoning can overcome the evil desires lurking within the character. Players also won’t spend their time fighting enemies. Instead, Gollum will have to use the environment to sneak around, or use tools around them to take down enemies, as shown in the cinematic trailer for the game.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum, is going to launch in 2022, on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Somerville
The special reveals that Geoff Keighley said was two and a half years in the making, a title that’s already been announced: Somerville. The player takes control of a father during a catastrophic event, and their main goal is to keep their family whole. The player is going to have to navigate the rural countryside and make sure that whatever is happening, they’re not a victim.
Somerville is coming out in 2022 for PC, and Xbox.
Cuphead DLC
Cuphead finally got another trailer for its DLC, featuring a song talking about the events of the game. The player will take control of Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice as they make their way to DLC Island and fight through the many enemies to find a way to make Ms. Chalice real.
The game is going to pit players against dastardly foes, but Cuphead and pals aren’t outmatched, as their friend Chef Saltbaker is going to help them with his baking skills, giving the trio plenty of firepower. Using new weapons that take notes from run and gun games like Gunstar Heroes, players are going to have to put their work in if they want to best the baddies of DLC Island.
However, Delicious Last Course has some tricks up its sleeves to give the players a leg up. Those who play Ms. Chalice are going to have some special abilities that the original Duo doesn’t have. Ms. Chalice comes with a double Jump, and her parry is tied to her dash in the air, so players are going to have to think differently if they want to play as the new character.
On top of this, some new moves look like they’re coming to the game, as Ms. Chalice can be seen sporting a roll on the ground, similar to the way that Mega-Man slides.
Cuphead, the Delicious Last Course is finally coming out on June 30th, 2022.
Sonic Frontiers
On Top of the actual release of Cuphead, the Game Awards show off the next Sonic title as well. The rumors about the game seem to be true, as Sonic Frontiers is the game’s name. The rumors about the title being open world also are true, as the game features a new Open-Zone mechanic, as sonic can run through the world in his free will. The game didn’t show any gameplay for the title, rather, environmental shots of the game world. Sonic seems to also be chased by some kind of robot that doesn’t look like it belongs to Eggman.
Sega calls the title “an experience like never before” and it’s coming to consoles and PC, Holiday of 2022.
Tchia
Hailing from New Caledonia, the game Tchia combines the best elements of Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. The player is going to take control of a little girl by the name of Tchia, as she roams around a land inspired by New Caledonia. Running into a cast of diverse characters inspired by the culture of the land, as well as being able to explore the world to their heart’s content.
Tchia is launching in 2022, for PC, PS4, and PS5.
Suicide Squad Kill the Justice Leauge
A new trailer for the Suicide Squad game was revealed, but not before the show was stopped by the actress playing Amanda Waller in the game. In character, Waller scolds Geoff for trying to show “Classified Information about Taskforce X.”
However, they still showed the trailer for the game, and this new trailer comes with gameplay for this four-player co-op action title. Players will take control of Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot as they make their way through the Arkhamverse’s version of Metropolis. However, as the Suicide Squad is on their way to destroy Brainiac and prevent him from taking over the world, they’re going to have to get through some tough adversaries, The Justice League, as the entire cast of heroes has been brainwashed by the villain. The only problem is, they can’t be reasoned with, and Waller has given the squad one goal. If they get in their way, kill them.
So now, the Suicide Squad is going to have to do something they weren’t planning on. Killing the Justice League. The gameplay shows that players are going to be able to change up the gameplay of each character, as well as use the environment to their advantage. Deadshot can float in the air, and provide sniper shots to help the other players. King Shark is able to wield a minigun, and Captain boomerang can teleport to his boomerang to deliver heavy attacks on the grunts in Metropolis.
Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League is coming out for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X in 2022.
Forspoken
Square Enix’s new action title puts a spin on the classic story of a normal person sent to a magical land. Players control the main character, New Yorker Frey Holland, as she is spirited away into the world of Athia. However, despite her trip giving her supernatural powers, she’s thrown into the middle of a conflict between the people of Athia and the evil Tantas, former Matriarchs of the land. Frey is going to have to make sure that she’s capable of stopping the conflict, as it appears to be her only means of going home. The game also shows excellent combat between Frey and the many enemies who are destined to oppose Frey in her journey to find a way back home.
Forspoken launches on May 24th, 2022 for PC, and PS5.
Saints Row
The reboot of Volition’s Saints Row game got a release date, as well as some gameplay. Players got a better look at the world, including some of the new factions that the main crew is going to be fighting. Players will find themselves riding in cars, wing suiting through the world, and fighting the Rough and Heavy Los Panteros, Nightclub Idols, and a police force known only as Marshall.
It’s up to the players to find a way to take down these factions and become the biggest organized crime syndicate in the area. Players will also be able to wield all manner of weapons and toys, such as the tanks, choppers, and motorcycles. However, things become a little more futuristic when players fin themselves riding hoverboards, shooting laser rifles, and putting down electric barriers that will help them get an upper hand on the enemy.
On top of this, plenty of customization options for the saints, allowing them to dress up like a burrito, taco, and more. Saints Row recently got a delay to “the second half of 2022,” and players were wondering when that was. However, a proper release date was shown to the players in this trailer, with the game coming out on August 23rd, 2022 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store.
Dune Spice Wars
Dune is getting a video game. This title is going to be set in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe, and players are going to be fighting in the Spice Wars on behalf of one of the four houses. The game is an RTS title with 4X elements. However, there’s going to be more than just other enemies to fight, as the dunes run rampant with sandworms. It’s going to be up to the player to scout ahead and look for signs of enemies and the local fauna as their troops traverse the dunes. Fighting isn’t going to be the only way to take on the world, though, as there’s also diplomacy or, if the player is feeling devious, overthrowing their enemies with a vast network of spies is also an option.
The game is planning on launching in 2022, but it’s going to be an early access title, and players are going to find themselves watching the game expand as it releases. The game is also set to come out on PC only.
Tiny Tina Wonderlands
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has been known for a while, but we were shown another trailer for the game, showing some of the things that players are going to see as they explore the vast expanse of the tabletop RPG game DM’d by Tiny Tina herself. The game puts players in as the Fate Maker, a “multiclass” character that can fight and use spells. Players will find themselves also being followed by companions, such as Valentine, voiced by Andy Samberg, and the sword-wielding robot Frette, who’s voiced by Wanda Sykes. The heroes will be tasked with taking down the menacing threat of the Dragon Lord, who’s voiced by Will Arnett. Some faces from previous borderlands games are also going to make cameos in this Dungeons and Dragons world.
The game is set to launch on March 25th, 2022 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Among Us VR
Social deduction game Among Us has been sitting pretty as one of the most popular games on the market as of recently, with Innersloth now working with companies like Riot Games to add Arcane cosmetics into the game through Among Us’ new Cosmicube system.
Now, it looks like the game is going to head into a new dimension, virtual reality. The trailer for the game shows a crewmate coming into the oxygen station on the Skeld map and being attacked by an impostor while doing one of his tasks. This VR spin on the Among Us game is going to have players thinking critically, while also blaming their friends for murdering their crewmates.
There’s no release date for Among Us VR yet, but what is known is the game isn’t going to be compatible with the original Among Us, so players who want to check it out are going to find themselves playing against others in VR.
DokeV
DokeV, pronounced Dough-Keh-Vee, is a creature collecting open-world title, seemingly mixing the gameplay from titles like Kingdom Hearts with combat from games like Pokemon. Players will take control of a child who’s running around the world collecting these characters. However, the trailers don’t tell the player that.
The presentation for DokeV at the game awards was a musical performance where the characters danced on stage and sang a song in Korean. While the trailer showed nothing about the game, the intrigue it developed for gamers will draw more traction to the property.
Steelrising
While it looks like the recently shown off Lies of P, Steelrising is a game that puts players into an open world ran by clockwork machines. Players will navigate Paris as Ageis, an automaton that is built for everything. The choices the player makes in the game can choose the path that the character follows, from being a warrior to virtuoso in the elemental arts.
With Paris in the middle of a revolution, the player’s choices are seemingly going to decide its outcome. With the story being an alternate history of Paris, the player is going to be enveloped in the world of the game.
Steelrising is coming out in June of 2022 for Xbox and PC.
Star Trek Resurgence
Another narrative-driven game. This one comes from former Telltale talent. Players are going to be able to make their way through a universe based on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and are going to be able to play as two protagonists, First Officer Jara Rydek, and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz. The two are going to have to make tough decisions that plenty of Star Trek heroes have to go through as they uncover a sinister plot.
Players will also meet familiar faces on their journey, as the trailer shows off a recreation of Leonard Nimoy as Spock from the original Star Trek tv show. With this narrative title being built up in Unreal Engine, the game is going to prove to be a step above anything Telltale has created previously, and with credits from all of the Telltale games, this Star-Studded development team is going to provide an unforgettable Star Trek experience.
Star Trek Resurgence launches in 2022 and is coming to both consoles and PC.
Rumbleverse
Rumbleverse takes the tried-and-true battle royale formula and throws it out of the window. Now, players are going to be ditching their weapons for their fists as they get up close and personal with their enemies. Rumbleverse lets players jump from rooftop to rooftop as they climb their way up anything and throw down with anyone. The game’s cartoonish art style and plenty of customization options make for a superhero-styled melee battle royale. The game jumps into free to play for both PS4 and PS5 in February 2022.
A Plauge Tale: Requiem
Another trailer for the sequel to the critically acclaimed Plague Tale Innocence has been revealed, and players are going to find themselves running through the Victorian-era landscapes as Amicia and Hugo return once more to escape the seemingly mystical plague of rats that’s been following them.
Being a direct sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, players are going to have to find their way through the world, exploring lands and cities not found in the original game, as well as fighting a new rogues gallery of enemies. The gameplay in the trailer for the Game Awards shows Amicia fighting enemies with new weapons, and defending herself on a raft. She’s also seen using fire to quell a sea of rats coming after them.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is coming out sometime in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch via the Cloud, and PC.
CrossfireX
CrossfireX is an FPS title developed by the minds at Smilegate. However, the game is also coming with a single-player campaign, and it’s being developed by the minds at Remedy. With Remedy revealing Alan Wake 2 earlier at the Game Awards, it’s no surprise that players are going to get a mind-bending campaign for CrossfireX.
The game is going to put players in the middle of a war between two private military corporations, Global Risk, who’s using technology to fight for order and security, and Black List, who’s working to undermine the efforts of their adversaries. Players are going to be able to experience the two single-player campaign missions for the game, Operation Catalyst, and Operation Spectre when the game launches.
However, the game also comes with a complete and fully-fledged multiplayer for the title, which is going to be available day one on Xbox Game Pass. The game is set to come out on Xbox One and Xbox Series X on February 10th.
Vampire the Masquerade Blood Hunt
Another battle royale title, but with a twist. Vampire the Masquerade: Blood Hunt tells the story of a war being started between all the factions of vampires in Prague, and with a secret society called the entity marking all the Vampires for Death. It’s up to the player to take to the streets and dominate the competition to reinstate the masquerade.
Players are going to have to pick an allegiance, each with their own abilities, and will have to work their way through the night and fight enemies, while also feasting on victims to grow their power. This third-person action title is going to have players take on one another to claim victory as their allegiance with their clan grows.
Players will also be able to customize their characters to give them a look that their enemies will remember. The game is going to be launching in early access and is going to come out in Spring of 2022 for PS5 and PC.
Halo TV Show
While it’s not a game, players did get to see their first look at the Halo tv show. The trailer showed a lot of what players wanted to see, as Master Chief took to the screen for the first time, being played by Pablo Schrier from American Gods. Jen Taylor is also set to reprise her role as Cortana, keeping her voice consistent from the Halo games to the Halo show.
It’s already been stated that the show isn’t going to retell all of the Halo stories. Rather, it’s going to show a new side of the character that players haven’t normally seen before, taking a more serious approach instead of being a thrill ride from start to finish. There’s a good chance that the show is going to perform very well and be something that is going to expand the enjoyment of the Halo series for long-time fans.
The Halo tv show is going to launch sometime in 2022.
Elden Ring
It wouldn’t be another Game Awards if there wasn’t any information about the collaboration between From Software and George R.R. Martin. Elden Ring did make another appearance at the Game Awards, as before the announcement Geoff Keigley’s “Pot Friend” showed up on stage to deliver a message to the host of the awards show.
The trailer that played after the pot friend left showed off a cinematic trailer for the game. The trailer provides more lore for the game, which tells about how the world was thrust into chaos, as the demigods fell, and the Elden ring was broken, throwing the world into a war that brought only darkness. With the war raging on, a massive monster fights a man with a robotic arm. While not a lot of it makes sense, much like the other Soul’s games, players will be able to piece together the story as their journey continues in the game.
Elden Ring releases for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on February 24th, 2022.
Arc Raiders
Coming from some of the minds who worked on the battlefield series. Arc Raiders is a free-to-play first-person shooter that’s going to take place in a world that’s being wrought by a mechanized alien invasion. With a seemingly 70’s pulp fiction sci-fi look, players are going to find themselves fighting against the alien forces as they bring down insurmountable odds for players to overcome. The games trailer appears like PVE combat is going to be the main mode of play for the title. Arc-Raiders is described as a co-op action title. Using physics to their advantage, players will be working to make sure that they’re going to be able to take on the enemy and win back their planet.
Arc Raiders launches for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X in 2022.
The Matrix Reawakens
The last important thing to be shown for the Game Awards is the Matrix Reawakens. This Unreal Engine 5 experience for consoles puts players into the shoes of Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss as they fight against the agents in the Matrix. The game’s graphical fidelity puts out an uncanny appearance, as a near photorealistic representation of Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann Moss’s fight on the screens of console players. The experience isn’t going to come to PC, but console players will be able to experience full-on third-person action, as the trailer shows a car chase where the player has to demolish the agents coming to capture or kill the duo.
The Matrix Reawakens is free, and is available now for Xbox Series X and PS5.
This has been one of the biggest years for reveals for the Game Awards, and players are going to have plenty of games to look forward to in 2022. Here’s to another year of incredible gaming.
